Y’all know we love a good Aggie wedding, so today we thought we’d feature Veronica and Robert’s wedding at Messina Hof! As a wedding photographer in College Station, Texas, we don’t get too many vineyard weddings. That’s why I’m always so excited whenever we have a wedding at Messina Hof Winery in Bryan. It’s such a charming and unique setting for a wedding!
The story of their wedding day at Messina Hof, vino!
Veronica and Robert met when their biochemistry labs collaborated on a research project together! They are both in graduate school at Texas A&M where they are getting their PhDs. They both designed each other’s wedding rings (too cute) which featured a sea turtle, a strand of DNA, and iridium (an element that is rare on earth but thought to be in the meteor that caused the extinction of the dinosaurs) on Veronica’s ring and a strand of DNA and a virus on Robert’s. Another custom detail that blew me away was that Robert’s mom handmade Veronica’s wedding dress!! How awesome is that?!
They made a lot of their decor and it was so awesome to see all of the personal touches and care that was put into all of their decor. One thing I thought was so special were the red details they included throughout their wedding. Veronica had small red flowers in her bouquet, red shoes, and a petticoat that was lined in the same shade! Those matched Robert’s vest and bowtie and the petals they had by their centerpieces.
Veronica also LOVES turtles (she calls them her spirit animal), so she had some turtle elements on her jewelry and in some of their reception decor. After taking some of their couples portraits, they took a few minutes to feed the turtles privately before heading into their reception. It was such an adorable moment and we know it meant a lot to both of them!
Overall, the wedding was so special and sweet! There were so many details that really felt like we got to know about the couple and their story! Take a look at the gallery below to fall in love with these two smart cookies and their wedding just like we did!
