We were thrilled when Alli & Maison agreed to do a record store engagement session at Curious Collections here in Bryan, TX! Don’t get me wrong, lovely outdoor spring sessions will always be a vibe but we love when couples choose to include things that bring them together as part of their photoshoot. Of course, as vinyl collectors ourselves we were over the moon when we knew they chose this as their location!
Here in the Bryan – College Station area, we have a handful of stores that sell vinyl records but one of our favorites is definitely Curious Collections Vinyl Records & More. Not only does their store look great in photos, but they have really bright ambient lighting that makes photography there a breeze.
This shoot was during the colder months, so these two lovelies wore a cute winter getup and looking back on this shoot from earlier this year makes me wish it was cold again already (sorry if you’re more of a summer person!).
As vinyl enthusiasts themselves, Alli & Maison totally understood the fun of just combing through stacks of records and having fun teasing a bit about their music selections. Maison enjoys the classics as he is holding a Beatles classic while taking a cute photo with Alli as she is holding up a Khruangbin album(did you know this band is from Houston? Highly recommend!).
As wedding photographers, we try to get with our couples and offer them lots of options for locations that best fit their style and look they are going for. If you are into something a little different, an engagement session at a record store is definitely one of our top choices. We literally can’t wait to do this again in the future!
Special thanks to the staff and owner of Curious Collections Vinyl Records & More. They were so accommodating and friendly and that totally helped make everyone comfortable during their session.
And yes, you already know we didn’t come home empty handed. Our haul from this trip to the record store were copies of Romy’s “Mid Air” album and the classic Gorillaz “Demon Days”.
