Inn at Quarry Ridge is one of our favorite wedding venues here in College Station, TX for its scenic country charm and it was the perfect backdrop for Michael and Trevor’s spring inspired wedding.
This couple had so many memorable ideas for their wedding, including celebrating with 18 of their closest friends as bridesmaids and groomsmen in their wedding party! The bridesmaids rocked some lovely champagne colored dresses while the groomsmen wore comfortable but stylish light gray suits. It is Texas after all so you can bet it gets a little warm!
The day started with me greeting Michaela and Trevor of course, and I immediately set my camera out to photograph all their decor and details. I absolutely love doing this for our couples and was so excited that Michaela was just as enthused as I was. I started with creating a flatlay that included some of the things that were important to them like her rings, bouquets and added small keepsakes like a cool decorative wax seal and butterfly stamps. When it comes to flatlays it’s so great to fill in the space in between so it was great seeing how it turned out!
Photographing her bouquet was a pleasure, the white flowers with pastel hues of pink and orange were a great compliment to the color scheme of the day. The matching boutonnieres looked just as amazing of course, so I made sure to include those as well. Thanks to all the pre-planning before the big day, we had scheduled just enough time to include all of these detail photos before some other important moments of the day, like their first look!
We are such fans of Inn at Quarry Ridge, one of the reasons being it has no shortage of great locations to choose from when it comes time to photograph important moments like the first look between the couple. For their day, I chose a cute spot between two trees near the front of the venue. This is one of our favorite areas because even during high noon (we always try to avoid unpleasant shadows!) the shade provides nice even lighting and keeps our couple out of the sun. Seeing Trevor’s face light up as he saw Michaela for the first time was such a sweet moment, especially so because they took the time to find personalized gifts for each other before their wedding. What makes wedding days extra special are the thought and care that couples put into their day, and a small keepsake to commemorate the occasion is always a good idea 🙂
Of course, before the ceremony began the bride and groom retreated to their rooms awaiting their grand entrance. By that time the light was perfect for Michaela and Trevor’s walk down the aisle. The front facade of the reception area at Inn at Quarry Ridge makes for the perfect backdrop during this key moment and I loved how this photo turned out!
The rest of the day was spent celebrating these two lovely people all the way until their bubble send off. It really couldn’t have been a more perfect day and I was happy to spend it with these two. Cheers to the couple!
