Sooo excited I finally got to meet these sweet souls after we officially got Armin + Rebekah on our calendar for their Hidden River Ranch wedding! We did a fun + romantic engagement session a few weeks ago at McKinney Falls State Park and my heart is still oh-so-happy about it.

McKinney State Park is so unique and impressive with its beautiful waterfalls, swimming holes, and long hiking trails… it just has the most epic backdrops and photographs so, so well
(insert heart-eye emoji here). I had been dying to go back ever since Miguel and I first visited a couple of years ago for another engagement shoot. I have been seeing that a few of our photog friends had been visiting the falls recently so I miiight have been a little jelly, haha. This definitely has got to be one of our most favorite places to hit up in Austin, TX. Do yourself and plan a trip here at least once in your lifetime – no seriously like, do it now 🙂
I am a big fan of romantic engagement sessions such as this one. Initially, Rebekah and I talked about all the possible locations we could go to in Austin – I suggested everything from Blanton Museum of Art to Seaholm Power Plant to South Congress. After thinking about it carefully, they both decided on this amazing park… and now I know why because they looove to go hiking!! It’s only natural that they wanted their engagements to best reflect them.
Dear Newly-engaged couples, I now have a super cool list of places we can go to in Austin so message me if you want to make some magic together!
We started off at Lower Falls, drove over to see Old Baldy (a must-see!), walked on some cacti-covered trails, and finished up their fun Austin engagements at the Upper Falls. Big shoutout to Rebekah + Armin for putting up with me because 1) it was sooo incredibly humid and 2) for climbing over a bunch of wasps nests to find that perfect spot, yikes. You gotta do what you gotta do for the shot, right?
Take a look at some of the pretties we captured that day including that massive 500+ year-old Cypress tree! You can’t tell by the picture but the tree is so incredibly tall (over 100+ feet), I couldn’t even get the entire thing in the frame even though I saw using a very wide lens. ♡
This charming couple is tying the knot this October at Hidden River Ranch in Lampasas, TX. CAN’T WAIT! 🙂
